Church planting is increasingly being seen as a key to church growth in the UK. The recent report ‘Church Growth in Britain: 1980 to the Present’, edited by David Goodhew, recommends that every Anglican diocese should have a church-planting strategy. In the United States, church planting has already been acknowledged as the most effective method of seeing the church across the nation grow.

In this seminar, Ric Thorpe, church planter and the Bishop of London’s Advisor for Church Planting, and Miles Toulmin, Associate Vicar of HTB, will share the HTB church-planting story, the various planting models and values being used in London and further afield, and describe how church planting, particularly from an Anglican base, is playing its part in the re-evangelisation of the nation.
